13.Udham Singh Nagar :southren Districts of Uttarakhand

As of my last knowledge update in 2022, Uttarakhand had 13 districts. However, please note that administrative divisions can change, and it’s advisable to check for the most up-to-date information.

Dehradun is the capital of Uttarakhand and also one of its districts. It serves as the administrative and political center of the state.

Uttarkashi is one of the largest districts in Uttarakhand in terms of area. It encompasses a significant part of the Garhwal region and is known for its natural beauty.

Nainital is known for its proximity to the Jim Corbett National Park. While the national park itself is located in the neighboring state of Uttarakhand, Nainital district serves as a popular gateway for tourists visiting the park.

Several districts in Uttarakhand are famous for hill stations. Dehradun, Mussoorie, and Chakrata in the Dehradun district, and Nainital in the Nainital district are well-known hill stations, each with its own unique charm.

The district of Chamoli is often associated with the Chipko movement, a prominent environmental movement in India that involved tree-hugging to protect forests.

Rishikesh and Haridwar, both in the Haridwar district, are known for adventure sports such as white-water rafting, trekking, and paragliding. These districts offer a range of thrilling outdoor activities.
